Fire Safety Assembly

On Thursday the 6th of October, the whole school enjoyed a fire safety assembly with Andrea who works with the police and fire services. The assembly taught us all about the dangers around Halloween, bonfire night and fireworks.

A few things we learnt were:

  • Whilst out trick or treating for Halloween, you should not knock on people's houses you do not know.

  • If there are no decorations on a house then do not knock on their door as they might not be celebrating Halloween.

  • Don’t go inside strangers' houses.

  • Go to organised firework displays instead of setting off your own fireworks. Stay 25m away from a live firework.

  • Never touch the lit end of a sparkler, even once it’s out, as it may be hot. Have a bucket of water or sand to put it in.

  • Don't go near candles in fancy dress as many costumes are flammable.

Hopefully these tips will help us all have a safe and enjoyable Halloween and bonfire night this year.
