Teaching & Learning Handbook
At Rodings we have spent a long time considering what great teaching looks like within our context, whilst looking at external research and evidence. This Teaching and Learning Handbook is the culmination of two years' worth of work in codifying our routines, expectations, consistencies and practice. Many people from both internally and externally have contributed to this handbook.
With everything we strive to do at Rodings we try to take a considered and balanced approach, and with teaching and learning we are consistently balancing 'autonomy' and 'allignment' , this is a difficult thing to do, but we know the importance of having both. We ask teachers to use the practices in place, but where necessary, to innovate and adapt.
This handbook clearly outlines the expectations upon our teachers, and the systems and tools we use to support teaching and learning in our classrooms. We have created a toolkit of evidence-driven techniques which teachers learn, practise and apply in their classrooms, understanding the when, why and how of each.
