Friends of Rodings Primary
The Friends of Rodings Primary school are a team of dedicated volunteers who work with the school to raise money for the school. The Friends are a registered charity and so everything we do is in the best interests of the charity. In recent years we have purchased sound and light equipment for the hall, IT equipment for the children, learning resources and contributed towards an outside classroom to name but a few things.
The Friends deliver a full calendar of events throughout the year with the focus on raising funds as well as creating fun, social activities and welcoming the wider community to the school. We try to ensure we deliver events that suit the children and parents alike and have a mix of events for children, adults and the whole family. Some of our main fundraisers include fireworks night, the Christmas fair, children’s disco and the summer fair to name but a few.
We are always looking for volunteers to join our team. If you feel this is something you would like to be involved with please email friendsofrodings@gmail.com or check out our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/friendsofrodings. If you do not feel you can commit to becoming a full member of the Friends committee we also have a helpers group who dedicate their time, when they can, to helping out with events. Any help you can offer is very well received as we cannot put on the events without the help of volunteers.
Rosie Radford - Co-Chair
My eldest daughter joined Rodings Primary School in 2019, unfortunately her first two years were interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic but I could not fault the commitment and support from the school through this.
Once it was permitted again we loved attending Friends events as a family and where I could, I would volunteer to help with the events. When my youngest daughter joined the school in 2022 I decided to join the Friends committee. I have loved my time on the committee so far and it is so rewarding seeing the impact we have made with all the lovely things that have been bought due to the fundraising of the Friends.
When the chair decided to step down towards the end of 2024 I volunteered to co-chair the committee. I am now looking forward to starting my first year as co-chair and hope to carry on with the excellent work the Friends do.

All 3 of my children have attended/attend Rodings. I joined the Friends in 2017 and have loved getting to know people I wouldn't have met otherwise. I sat on the committee as a helper when I first joined and in 2022 took on the secretary role. The money raised by the Friends of Rodings makes such a difference to our children and the facilities they get to use as a result of the the money raised. Any new members are very welcome, the more the merrier!
