Parent Governor
A position has become available on our Governing Board for a parent governor. This is a great opportunity for a parent to join our great team of governors to support the future development of the school and guide the strategic direction. This volunteer position is a brilliant way to support the school and the local community. Please see the attached poster for more details about what is involved. If you are interested or want more information about what is involved, please get in contact with me at mr.raraty@rodingsprimary.co.uk

Home to School Transport
Following on from my message last week about the parking situation, I would like to encourage people to apply for places to use the Home to School transport. The majority of parents and children have had a positive experience and have built great relationships with regular drivers. If you think you may qualify, please follow the link below to apply for a place. This would really help with the parking situation outside school and make for a much safer collection time. If you need any help with the application or want to talk any concerns through, please get in contact.

Treatment of Rodings Staff

We have the most amazing school community, and we are very fortunate to have such supportive parents and families. However, recently, we have experienced a very small minority of parents that feel that they can shout and swear at staff. This is not acceptable and I will not allow Rodings staff to be treated this way. We are more than happy to discuss any issues or concerns in a calm and respectful way. I have instructed office staff to put the phone down on any inappropriate behaviour from anyone. I will also not hesitate to ban anyone from the school site whose conduct does not meet the expectations of the school. The same approach will be taken if parents are not respectful to other parents. On Monday night, the Governing Board approved a Parent and Visitors Conduct policy which you can view on our school website or by clicking on the link.

Break the Rules Day

One of the favourite events of the year is back - Break The Rules day. Next Friday, the children can choose to break up to four rules from the list provided. The aim is to have a little bit of fun but also raise some money for the school. This year the money will go to providing equipment for the school playground. The list of rules that can be broken is attached.

Have a lovely weekend!

We need your help please :-)

The first part of our new lunchtime play initiative has gone really well and the children are really engaging with the activities.

There has been some natural wear and tear, and we would love to be able to replenish our stock!

If you've done a post-Christmas clear out and have anything to donate, we would be very grateful to accept.

We would love any pre-loved scooters and helmets; any small world play (people, dinosaurs, animals) or toy cars; and if you have anything we could use for dress up (hats, bags, capes, jewellery etc NOT outfits) the children and lunchtime staff would be very grateful to accept them.

Thank you very much!

Mrs Kilpatrick and Mrs Parker
