Just a couple of reminders from me this week...
Nut Free School
Due to a number of children having allergies to nuts, we are a nut free school. This includes the obvious foods like peanut butter but also Nutella and their equivalents. Over the past week we have had several children with peanut butter or Nutella sandwiches in school. This has lead to the children being removed from the school hall to eat their lunch separately. Although dealt with sensitively, this can be still upsetting for the child.
Furthermore, please be careful with cereal bars as these can also contain nuts.
It is really important that these measures are followed as we don't want a child to suffer from an allergic reaction or worse.
Attendance
Next week, attendance notification will be set out for those children whose attendance has fallen below the appropriate level. Letter 1 is an awareness letter to parents about their child's current attendance rate. Where Letter 2 will invite you in to discuss the barriers to attending school. If you receive no letter then attendance is in the acceptable range.
Surveys
Finally, thank you, to all those people that have completed various surveys over the last few weeks. We will publish the results in due course, once the Senior Leadership Team and the Governing Board have analysed the data.
Have a lovely weekend!
Mr Raraty
From the Governors
The Rodings School Governors met on Monday evening and are pleased to announce a new member to the board. Tanya Williams will be a great addition to the governing board and we all look forward to her joining the team in our next meeting in December.
Mr. Raraty delivered his head teacher’s report to the board, which included interesting information about staff undertaking further safeguarding sessions and the inspiring school development plan. He and the staff still strive for even greater excellence at Rodings, and they continue their progress with the school curriculum.
Recently the school held a wonderful open morning for perspective pupils. Staff welcomed many parents and their children into the early years setting, where they were able to answer questions and engage with the children. We look forward to seeing the 2023 children in September!
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend!
With best wishes from the Rodings Governors!
