SEND Station

SEND Station is an online platform that provides informative, short and reasonable priced training on special educational needs topics. This includes training for parents on a range of SEND topics including cognitive learning, autism and speech and language. Courses are online and run mainly in the evenings. Most courses cost just £9.50.

Parking

I have received a couple of complaints from residents in Holloway Crescent about the way parents are parking in their street. This includes blocking driveways and disabled bays. I know that parking is very difficult, but please respect our neighbours when finding a parking space.

Can I also politely ask that parents don’t park in the top car park before 8:30am. Many of our support staff do not start work until 8:45am and are struggling to get parked. This has led them to park outside the front of the school which we want to keep as clear as possible for collection at the end of the day. Thank you!

Qatar World Cup

Excitement is building as we approach the start of the world cup with many hoping that England (and maybe Wales) will go all the way. In school, the children will be tracking the success of the teams and learning about the different countries taking part.
As you will be aware the Qatar World Cup has been surrounded by controversy due to Qatar's human rights record and its treatment of its LGBTQ+ citizens. Some children may become aware of the politics around the tournament from watching the matches or listening to the news. This may lead them to ask questions and have discussions with their friends in school. We will deal with any questions in a sensitive and age appropriate way referring to our Core Values and ethos of supporting equality, diversity and kindness.

Have a lovely weekend!

The Christmas Fayre is creeping ever closer...2nd December 5-7pm! On admission to the Fayre we will hand out a flyer with a map inside it. We would like the Rodings children to design the front cover for this flyer. This should be on an A5 piece of paper (half a piece of A4 paper) portrait way up and drawn in black and white, pencil or pen and be all things Christmassy!

If your child would like to have a chance at having their design printed on the Christmas Fayre maps then please send them into your child's teacher by Monday 21st November with their name and age written at the bottom.

Each teacher will pick a design out of a hat to be selected for the final prints.

Good luck!

Lily is raising money for the Herts and Essex Air Ambulance - via her cub group (First Dunmow Cubs Hatfield Forest).

She will be undertaking a sponsored night hike next Thursday, along with the rest of her cub pack. They will be hiking 5 miles, from Takeley to Dunmow. Lily has done really well so far and has raised £30 all by herself.

Well done Lily, we are so proud of you :-)

Alice and Annie took part in their first ballet exam today. They have both been practising really hard and came out with big smiles on their faces, we are so proud of them!
