Headteacher Colin Raraty gave his first update of 2023 and announced that attendance figures, including lateness, had improved to 97%. The overall yearly average is now 94% but this figure has been significantly affected by a combination of Strep, chicken pox and Covid-19.
Early Years teacher Ali Gare will be leaving us at Easter to take up a career outside of teaching. Mrs Gare has been with us for 4 and a half years and will be sadly missed. Thank you Mrs Gare! The recruitment process has started to find her replacement. An additional member of teaching staff has also been recruited on a fixed term contract until Summer 2024.
Pupil numbers are now at 297 and the new Reception intake for September will be 1 class only. The strike scheduled for March unfortunately necessitate closing some classes for the day.
The key documents which underpin how the school operates, such as the Vision Statement and School Development Plan, were discussed and will continue to be reviewed and updated as we move forward.
The governors recently undertook their annual self-evaluation review which focuses on how we perform as governors and the results were discussed. Fortunately, no major problems were discovered!
A scheduled governor school visit will take place on the morning of March 7th where the focus will be on the key documents - Vision Statement, School Development Plan, Road Map and Self Evaluation Form and how they inter-connect with each other.
