Governors’ Report to Parents – April 2023
The Governors recently met on 24th April. As usual, we had a detailed agenda and some important policy documents to work through.
The minutes of our previous meeting held in March were reviewed, discussed and approved.
The meeting then went on to discuss the following matters:-
Governor Membership – It was reported that the school has a near compliment of Governors. We are pleased to note that Lauren Dearsley was appointed vice chair of the teaching and learning committee.
Mr Raraty delivered his Headteacher’s Report and his Safeguarding Report. The board were content with the facts, figures and information contained therein.
Plans were discussed for the forthcoming Key Stage 2 SATS and we wish the children well in these exams.
Mr Raraty reported that attendance was extremely good having due regard in mind of the cold winter and resultant bugs.
It was noted that the pupil survey is being finalised and will be out shortly for the pupils to complete, this will help us with our further understand the needs of our children.
The Rodings Road map (our five year strategy document) was discussed and reviewed and the Governors were content with progress.
Mr Raraty delivered his Safeguarding report – it was reported that the school had recently carried out its audit and there were no issues to report.
Mr Raraty delivered his health and safety report. He reported that the school building is generally in good shape and we continue to move forward with new projects to further improve the school environment.
We discussed the Governors visits that took place recently. There was a create/diversity visit on 22 nd March. Some Governors also attended the recent end of term celebration assembly which was a great way to end the term and award our children for their efforts. Our Chair of Governors, also attend a review of the “rights respecting schools” programme. The school has achieved bronze and is now working towards silver – the school is well placed to achieve this.
Finally, the Board attended to the update, review and agreement to various policy
documents.
