Exciting Lunchtime Activities For All…
We Need Your Help!
We are always looking at how we can improve our provision at Rodings and lunchtime activities is our next big project. Over the last couple of weeks two of our Learning Support Assistance have undertaken training and carried out research on how to make lunchtime more enjoyable for all.
Mrs Kilpatrick and Mrs Parker have come up with an amazing plan which zones all our outdoor space for different activities. This includes a scooter park, a creative zone for drama and music, a construction zone, small world play areas, sandpits, more seating and shade and a quiet zone for reading and mindfulness. We have already set up a building zone on the field which has gone down brilliantly with the children. This allows them to enjoy and practice their Forest School skills on the school site.
We have run the plans by the School Parliament and they are very excited and have made some very thoughtful suggestions. Our plans also include using the school field all year round, not just in summer, which will involve the children getting changed into wellies if they want to access the field activities in winter.
Mrs Kilpatrick and Mrs Parker have come up with a wish list of donations that you may have spare at home. If you have any of the following items please send them into school for the attention of the playground project.
We are certain with our new plans children will have a much more enriched, imaginative and fulfilled lunchtime. I will keep you posted as each zone is set up.
Thank you for your support!
