Christmas is coming... Tickets will soon be available!
With December around the corner, I thought I would update you regarding ticket allocations for the Nativity and details for the Key Stage 2 Christmas Carols.
Our Key Stage 1 Nativity will be a ticketed event. This is due to the number of children in EYFS and KS1 and possible adults that may like to come and watch. We are limited to how many people are allowed in the hall because of fire regulations, so this year we will be checking tickets at each event. The Grandparents' Performance will only be for EYFS and KS1 grandparents only. Again, this will be ticketed for grandparents only.
Key Stage 2 will hold their Christmas Carol concert outside. No tickets will be required for this. However, if the weather is bad we will have to cancel this event. KS2 is very large this year, and we wouldn't be able to fit everyone in the hall. Also, with other events going on at school, we wouldn't be able to postpone it to another date either.
More ticket information and how to apply will be with you next week.
Positive Communication
We are very fortunate that the Rodings family is a very supportive and understanding community. However, when dealing with over 200 families, there will be times when things go wrong and parents may have concerns about some of the decisions we have made for the benefit of the whole school.
In the last couple of weeks, I have had to deal with several incidents where Rodings staff have not been spoken to or messaged in the most respectful way. This has included being shouted at and sworn at. We fully understand that there are times when parents may be frustrated by decisions that we make. However, please communicate in a way that is respectful and appropriate.
This extends to WhatsApp groups as well. Although they may be considered private, the contents of these groups often get back to us, particularly if others feel that comments are unfair or unjustified. If you have concerns or questions, please get in contact with us so that you get the actual facts rather than stories that have changed through WhatsApp whispers.
Finally, any discussion or criticism of a child in a WhatsApp group is unacceptable.
My door is always open, so please get in touch if you have any concerns.
Christmas Fayre
Next Friday is our wonderful Christmas Fayre. Once again, there will be amazing activities to do, as well as food and drink and, most importantly, Father Christmas. You will be able to buy your real Christmas tree direct from us (see the flyer below). We did this for the first time last year and the quality was amazing.
Friday will be Christmas Jumper Day for a donation of £1. I look forward to lots of Christmas cheer next week!
Have a lovely weekend!
