Today, we said goodbye to Miss Oates, who will be retiring after 27 years at Rodings Primary School. She has supported thousands of children, lots of them in their first years at school and more recently in Key Stage 2 supporting our older children.
It is never easy to sum up 29 years worth of commitment and hard work, but Miss Oates has been a major part of the work that has happened at Rodings. She has run clubs, delivered interventions to support children, attended events and given up her time to help redecorate the school. Just this week she supported Year 5 on their residential trip to Aylmerton.
Everyone at Rodings wishes Miss Oates the very best in retirement. We thank you for all your hard work and dedication. You will be truly missed!
New School Hours and Drop-off and Collection Arrangements
From the 31st October, we will begin our new school opening hours.
-
School gates will open for all children at 08:30 and close at 08:40.
-
Registers will be between 8:40 and 08:45
-
First lesson will start at 8:45am. A child will be classed as late after this time. A child will receive an unauthorised late after 9am.
-
School will end at 15:15 for all children.
In the mornings, children can continue to be dropped off using the current Kiss and Drop system. However, it will be really important that this is done as quickly as possible as spaces will be limited. The top car park will return to staff parking meaning there will only be one lane available.
For afternoon collection, children will be released from classrooms from the playground. Relatives collecting in the afternoon will need to park up and walk into the back playground. From there, the children will be released by a member of staff.
When parking, please take our neighbours into consideration and also abide by traffic laws. If you are able to access school transport, walk or car share please do this as parking will be very limited.
I am working with local partners to find ways to improve parking and traffic issues and I hope to be able to announce some things soon.
Parent Survey
There was an error in last week's link to the parent survey which stopped people from completing the questionnaire. The new link below now works.
